My 4-month-old puppy eats high-end large breed kibble, but I'd like to know if there are brands you recommend specifically. I've also read about the BARF diet — is it viable for this breed?

For growth, the critical factor is a controlled intake of calcium and phosphorus (do not exceed) to prevent joint issues in a slow-developing breed. Look for giant breed kibble with FEDIAF certification. Regarding BARF: it is viable but requires specialized veterinary guidance — an imbalance in a puppy can cause permanent damage.
