How much daily exercise does an adult Cane Corso need?

Answered

I just adopted a 2-year-old Cane Corso and want to make sure I'm giving him the right level of activity. How many walks a day are recommended and of what duration? Does he need to run or is walking enough?

An adult Cane Corso needs between 60 and 90 minutes of daily exercise. I split it into two walks: a long one in the morning (45 min) with some jogging and play, and a more relaxed one in the afternoon (30 min). They are powerful dogs but not hyperactive like a Border Collie — they value the quality of exercise more than the quantity.

My 3-year-old female is great with two 40-minute walks and a play session in the garden. They love scent work (hiding treats) — it tires the mind more than the body.
