At what age can I start basic training?

Answered

I am picking up a Viziato puppy in two weeks (he will be 10 weeks old). When is the ideal time to start with sit, stay, come? Is it too early to start the first day home?

The first day is perfect! At 8-10 weeks, puppies absorb everything. Of course, keep sessions to 3-5 minutes, several times a day, always using positive reinforcement. No punishments: the Cane Corso is very sensitive and remembers bad experiences. Start with 'sit' and 'come' — they are the basis of everything.

I recommend the book 'The Balanced Puppy' by Turid Rugaas. It helped us a lot with our first Cane Corso. And patience: between 6 and 10 months there is a normal 'rebel' phase, don't give up.
