What is the best age to spay a female Cane Corso?

I have a 7-month-old female and my vet recommends spaying her before her first heat. I've read conflicting opinions about the ideal timing in large breeds. What is your experience?

In giant breeds like the Cane Corso, more and more studies recommend waiting at least until the first heat (or to 18-24 months) before spaying. The reason: sex hormones play a role in growth plate closure and muscle development. Spaying too early increases the risk of dysplasia and certain tumors. Consult with a vet specialized in large breeds.
